A short beach run at Castle Point on the Wellington region's Wairarapa coast. It doesn't go far and can get busy, but it brings you closer to the popular walk up Castle Rock, the towering landmark that gives the area its name. It's a good spot to soak up the coastal scenery and stretch your legs on the surrounding tracks.
Note that Castle Point isn't an especially easy place to find informal camping nearby — if you're self-contained you'll have more options, but watch for signed self-contained-only areas, where staying without certification risks a fine. Keep your speed sensible given the foot traffic around the beach and the walk-up access.
