This run starts with a splash across the Leatham River. It can run high and may not be passable after big rains, so the crossing is the key thing to size up before you head off. Check it carefully and pick your line.

Once you're across, the track follows the hills out towards Greigs Hut, climbing through forest with some good views opening up along the way.

Greigs Hut makes a natural turnaround and a good spot to pull over and take in the ranges. With its mix of open hill country and forest, it's a relaxed, scenic one for anyone after backcountry views without demanding terrain.
