Boundary Stream - Lake Access

4WD track in the Canterbury region

Boundary Stream Lake Access is a short, easy Mackenzie Country run down to the shores of Lake Tekapo with big views out over the water.

A short, easy run down to the shores of Lake Tekapo. There's nothing tricky about it, just a gentle drop down to the water's edge with big views out over the lake the whole way.

DOC recommend a 4WD for the trip down. In reality it's probably not strictly required, but worth keeping in mind, especially if conditions have softened the track.

It's a quick hop rather than a full day out, so it works well as a detour if you're poking around the wider Tekapo area and want to get close to the lake. Take in the scenery, then head back out the way you came.
