Tucked in beside a small kauri stand on the Kauri Coast, this is a serviced campground that makes a good reset stop when you're exploring the area. Plenty of walking tracks run off from here to stretch your legs among the big trees.

Facilities are comfortable for a spot like this. Hot showers, flush toilets, powered and non-powered tent sites, a sheltered cooking area with an electric stove, and tap water that's untreated so boil it before use. It's also wheelchair accessible.

One thing to know is the grass area is fenced off from cars, so you can't park on it. That makes it awkward for rooftop tents, especially in peak season. Otherwise it's a peaceful, welcoming base for enjoying the kauri forest and surrounding bush.
