It's a large, well-loved DOC campground that consistently earns high praise, with a gorgeous coastal setting that has many visitors planning return trips.

The site offers non-powered tent sites, tap water, cold showers, a dump station and a boat launch, making it a handy base for exploring the park's beaches, coastal walks and waterways. Campfires are permitted except during fire bans, and a DOC pass can be used here.

Whether you're paddling the coastline, walking sections of the Abel Tasman Coast Track or simply soaking up the beachside scenery, Totaranui is a memorable spot. Note that access into this part of the park can be on unsealed road, so come prepared for an easygoing but scenic drive in.
