South Arm Campsite (Lake Manapouri)

Campsite in the Southland region

South Arm Campsite is a remote lakeside spot on Lake Manapouri in Fiordland, reached by boat or Borland Road, with basic facilities and beech forest.

(2)

On the shores of Lake Manapouri, tucked into native beech forest, this is a basic spot with a chill feel. Quiet forest and water views, and about as far from the crowds as you'll get. You reach it either by boat across the lake or overland via Borland Road.

The sandflies here can be full-on, so pack plenty of repellent. If you're after a wild, out-of-the-way corner of Fiordland to pitch up for the night, South Arm is a good one.
