Just five minutes off State Highway 1, this is a basic, no-frills stop tucked into a quiet patch of forest. The surroundings are green and peaceful, a handy place to pause when you're travelling the central North Island and want to get well away from the traffic.

Facilities are minimal, so come fully self-sufficient. The ground near the entrance varies. As you come in, the right side tends to be firmer underfoot while the left runs soft and swampy.
