Sailors Cutting is just off the main road and is super popular with the long-term local crew. There are big mature trees to camp underneath and the whole site is very sheltered.

There is boat ramp, a small harbour and a safe swimming area.

Registration to be paid upon arrival, either in the honesty box at the entrance, or to the camp warden. No open fires are permitted, and dogs must be kept on lead at all times.

The Waitaki Lakes camping season opens from the third Saturday of September until the Monday of Queen's Birthday Weekend.
