(3)

At the northern tip of the Coromandel Peninsula, this DOC campsite sits right at the water's edge beside the beach. It's a consistently loved waterfront spot with beautiful surroundings, good fishing and safe swimming that makes it ideal for kids. There's plenty of room to spread out and find your own private corner.

At the eastern end of the campsite, the Muriwai Coastal Walk leads up the headland towards Wharekaiatua Pa and along the coast, with stunning coastal views.

Facilities include non-powered tent sites, BBQ, a cooking shelter, cold showers, toilets and tap water. Access is via a long, sometimes narrow gravel road, so allow plenty of time on the drive in. This is a busy site and bookings are required year-round — tap the 'More info/Book now' button in the app to reach the DOC booking page.
