Onamalutu Campsite

Campsite in the Marlborough region

(2)

Tucked into remnant podocarp forest on the edge of Mount Richmond Forest Park, this Standard DOC campsite is a quiet, relaxed spot in the Marlborough hills. There's plenty of room to spread out, with a large open grass area for tents and vans plus a few more sheltered sites among the trees. Facilities are good for a DOC site, with flush toilets, both non-powered and powered sites, and tap water (untreated, so boil before drinking). A pleasant bush walk loops around the campsite, making it an easy place to stretch the legs and soak up the native forest setting. It's well regarded as a peaceful, well-kept base, and is a DOC site you can book online. A good choice for an overnight stop or a relaxed couple of nights away from the crowds.
