Onamalutu Campsite

Campsite in the Marlborough region

Onamalutu Campsite is a quiet DOC spot in the Marlborough hills, set in podocarp forest with grassy sites, flush toilets, powered options and a bush walk.

(2)

On the edge of Mount Richmond Forest Park, sat in a patch of remnant podocarp forest, this is a quiet and relaxed spot. There's plenty of room to spread out, with a big open grass area for tents and vans plus a few more sheltered sites tucked in among the trees.

Facilities are good for a DOC site. You get flush toilets, both non-powered and powered options, and tap water, though it's untreated so boil it before drinking. A pleasant bush walk loops around the camp if you want to stretch the legs and take in the native forest.

Well regarded as a peaceful, well-kept base. It's a Standard DOC site you can book online, and a good pick for an overnight stop or a relaxed couple of nights away from the crowds.
