Lake Rotoroa Campsite

Campsite in the Nelson region

(3)

Set within Nelson Lakes National Park near the southern end of Lake Rotoroa, this campsite is easy to reach by road. It offers non-powered tent sites along with toilets and an untreated tap water supply (boil before use). A boat ramp and jetty make it a handy base for getting out on the water, and there are short strolls through the surrounding native bush. Note that the camp itself sits close to the road and nearby houses rather than directly on the lakeshore, so it isn't a remote or secluded lakeside spot - it's more a practical, accessible stopover for those wanting easy access to boating and the wider Nelson Lakes area. If you're after a true wilderness feel you may want to set expectations accordingly, but for convenient camping with a boat launch close to the lake, it does the job.
