Campsite in the Canterbury region
Klondyke Corner is a spacious DOC campsite near Arthur's Pass, set by the braided Bealey and Waimakariri Rivers with big mountain views.
A big, open clearing sits near where the Bealey and Waimakariri Rivers meet, out in the high country of Arthur's Pass National Park. There's plenty of flat ground for tents, and the views out to the surrounding mountains are the main draw.
Klondyke Corner is a basic DOC-style site. You get non-powered tent sites, a cooking shelter, and non-flush long-drops. There's untreated tap water, so boil it before drinking, and a nearby stream people have drawn from too. It's wheelchair accessible with assistance.
The braided river setting and open alpine outlook make it a relaxed spot to pitch up for the night while you're exploring the park. Visitors rate it highly, and some have reported phone reception here.
