Fletcher Bay Campsite

Campsite in the Coromandel region

(2)

Set at the very tip of the northern Coromandel, Fletcher Bay Campsite is a beachfront site in a working farm setting at the end of the road. It's an ideal base for water sports, with swimming, boating, diving and good fishing off the rocks. The bay is sheltered and scenic, with sweeping coastal views and, on clear nights, exceptional star-gazing thanks to the lack of light pollution. Several walks lead directly from the camp, making it a great spot to explore on foot. Facilities are basic DOC standard: non-powered tent sites, non-flush (long-drop) toilets, cold showers, and untreated tap water that should be boiled before use. The site is wheelchair accessible with assistance. Well worth the trek up the coast for the setting alone.
