(2)

Right on the edge of Mt Aspiring National Park, this one sits near the shores of Diamond Lake with good views out across the water and the mountain country behind it. Handy spot for swimming, fishing or getting the kayak out, and you'll often see anglers working the lake.

The campsite itself is basic and compact. It's mostly a gravel area, so it suits sleeping in the vehicle, with only a couple of grass spots for tents. Facilities are minimal but they do the job: non-flush toilets and water from the stream.
