Bucks Road Campsite

Campsite in the Wellington region

Bucks Road Campsite is a quiet, sheltered spot above the Tauherenikau River in Tararua Forest Park, with a swimming hole and tracks into the bush.

(5)

Above the Tauherenikau River, tucked in among regenerating bush, this is a quiet and well-sheltered spot in the Tararua Forest Park.

River access is fairly easy, if not steep - and there's a good swimming hole for cooling off in summer.

Two walking tracks head deeper into the forest park, including the Tauherenikau Gorge track. Dogs are welcome on a leash. Good one for an easy bush and river getaway.
