Johnstone Creek track and then connecting up with Mount Buster Track offers absolutely superb driving. The Johnstone's Creek Track climbs up to high altitude on a extremely loose rocky 4X4 trail with a crossing of the headwaters of the Otematata River. The scenery is stunning and the driving is fantastic. A great option if you enjoy high altitude tracks over rocky trails.

This track is open between Labour Weekend (late October) and April 30th. DOC specifies that if conditions are unsuitable or the tracks become prone to damage they may be closed
